Unlock the potential of grant writing!
Millions are available across all industries every year through government and philanthropic grant programs.
But – grant writing can be painful. Things can feel pretty bleak when you’re 17-pages deep into a rushed project plan, figuring out a three-year budget while convincing project partners to sign some letters of support.
Here’s the truth about grants. Getting one can be like a high-stakes win at the blackjack table. It can be hard to know if the whole ordeal will be a hit or miss. You could waste time and ruin team morale, or – with the right ingredients – you could win so big you’re able to double your workforce in 12 months.
If you want to maximise your chances, there’s no shortcuts with effective grant writing. Whether an application is 5 or 50 pages, every sentence has to sing.

Director of Clarity Grants Management Leslie Annear will share lessons that have been learnt over 12+ years of grant writing.
“My approach is open and honest, bringing clarity and structure to a job that can be overwhelming at the best of times.”
Grant writing is one of those very rare business areas where the return on investment has exponential potential. Upskill in this area and you could unlock hundreds of thousands in grant funding – every year.
Previous course participants have reported significant grant wins after applying the strategies and skills shared by Leslie.Â

"It goes beyond the usual 'Grants 101'. Most grant writing workshops are pitched at beginners and just reinforce what we already know but don't provide new insights. Hands down one of the most useful workshops I have attended in years. (Potentially my whole 21 years at this org)."Â

Leslie Annear
I love that my job as founder of Clarity Content is working with businesses to get incredible results and lots of money. I’ve seen the difference that grant success can make – creating jobs, expanding services, and scaling impact nation-wide. I started grant writing in 2007. From the start it played to my strengths of being a great project manager & copywriter who thinks strategically, and brings calmness and order to execution and delivery.
These days I’m one of Australia’s leading grants specialists. Since 2020 I’ve secured over $55 million in grant funds for clients including renewable tech companies, social enterprises, arts and entertainment, aid and development and disability services. Armed with tertiary qualifications in community development, a Progress Australia fellowship and board experience for several Victorian charities, I bring strong project management skills to complex applications.
My specialty is large applications over $500K and what sets me apart is I’ve worked on both sides of the fence. As a grant manager with the Federal Government, I oversaw a portfolio worth $18M+. So I have the inside running on what assessment panels really look for, and can guide the connection point between government objectives and private sector operations.
Away from work I love hanging out with my drummer husband and our two sons. We spend weekends by the beach with surfboards and pipe dreams.
"Grant Writing is an integral part of my role as CEO. It’s implied that anyone in the role can naturally do it but it is absolutely a particular skill set and I very much appreciated your insights. Thank you for honestly the best PD I have completed in the last 7 years! I hope to write to you shortly advising of my grant success."Â

After attending Leslie’s grant writing workshop, we’ve seen a strong increase in successful grant applications at Servants. We already had talented writers on team, but the industry knowledge, simple tips, and encouragement to follow up specific grants has helped us refine our strategy, prevent unnecessary work, and focus on the right grants for us. We are an organisation with a lean staff team, so being able to choose what grants to apply for, and which ones to leave behind, is just as important as the application process itself.
Â
Within a few months, we can already attribute over $100,000 worth of successful grants to Leslie – and the lessons we’ve learnt are preparing us for much larger grants to come. These include grants targeted exactly where we need them, including triennial operational funding that’s helping us grow.
Â
I can’t recommend Clarity Content’s workshops enough. Leslie has a genuine passion for seeing organisations flourish, and openly shares her secrets from years of successful grant writing across many sectors. Our organisation is in a better position thanks to her support.
